Correctional Industries continues to grow and expands its product line
ALGEBRA OUR WAY TODAY BABY ALGEBRA FOR BABY AND YOU Introducing baby to algebra as early as the baby shower via algebra themed baby beginnings, such as:mobiles, room plaques, pacifiers and other baby algebra paraphernalia,we inundate baby with the message that algebra is important to baby and family tradition.Baby algebra uses pictures and key words to help Baby to generalize and grasp algebra concepts. Therefore we can think our way through the stepping stones called tests. Colours and images react. Colours with one side of the brain, images with the other side of the brain, together create and complete the learning process inherent at birth . WALLA! Baby does algebra.
Dental Lab
In conjunction with ODRC’s vocational programs, OPI staff supervise offenders in the fabrication of dentures and partial dentures and other types of dental repairs as needed. Upon release, offenders will have learned many skills that will contribute to their successful reentry. These skills include setting teeth, waxing dentures and finishing and polishing. Only Over 25 forms techs have found employment within one week at other dental labs upon their release

Construction Services
OPI Construction offers a wide variety of services to meet your every need. Whether you need a building demolished, a building erected or something in between, we’re here to assist you in reaching your construction and facilities goals. Our supervisory and site staff combine many years of experience in the construction industry with the overwhelming desire to get the job done for you on budget and on time. OPI offenders bring with them the desire to learn new skills and do the job right. Many of them have extensive construction experience and bring valuable skills to the table.
Abatement Services
We provide a host of environmental services, including asbestos abatement, mold remediation and lead abatement. In addition, we provide underground storage tank removal and installation. OPI staff members and offenders are thoroughly trained in the proper identification and removal of asbestos containing building materials. We offer many years of experience in the removal of asbestos ceilings, flooring, pipe insulation, mastic and a host of other asbestos containing materials. We are required to comply with the codes set forth by the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. All staff and offenders are certified by the Ohio Department of Health in the removal of asbestos. Staff members and offenders continue their training on a yearly basis during annual recertification of their skills.

Optical Laboratory
OPI staff supervise offenders in the production and dispensing of quality eyeglasses. Customers include the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, the Ohio Department of Youth Services, and the Ohio Department of Mental Health. Offenders learn skills such as finishing lenses based on received prescriptions, inventory, shipping, quality control and office skills

Braille Operation
The Braille Service Center is a cooperative project between OPI Braille Services Center and the Center for Instructional Supports and Accessible Materials (CISAM), Ohio State School for the Blind Outreach Program and Services. Offenders learn skills such as Braille transcription, Braille 2000, Mega Dots, Tactile Graphics and proofreading which will provide them with marketable skills upon release.
