In many cases police go too far when they excessively punch, kick, beat, and shoot people who pose no threat. Injuries and sometimes death result from the police use of restraints, chemical sprays, electro-shock weapons, batons, dogs, flashlights, radios, and guns (AIUSA Rights 1999:1-3). Police brutality cases have received more attention due to some of the high profile cases that reach the media. The use of excessive force is a criminal act, it is in fact a type of white collar crime.

DRUG USERS PAY TAXES 


Drug users pay over 2 billion dollars a year in taxes that consist of confiscated money and property. It is only moral that these funds are used to rehabilitated the victims of" the war on drugs". and not just take the money and lock them up for life.  It could and should only be used for education and medical Research.  While, nationwide, state spending for criminal corrections has boomed. According to an April 2011 study by the Pew Center on the States, spending for corrections quadrupled over the last two decades, making it the second fastest growing area of state budgets, behind Medicaid. In California, spending for criminal corrections has more than tripled since 1980.

    The lobbying group is called the American Legislative Exchange Commission (ALEC) private prison companies write the laws and as members of ALEC get special access to legislators. The new focus is on immigration. They wrote the AZ law and are focusing on a federal program called Operation Streamline at the moment, Streamline is in effect but they are trying speed up the process of turning reentry into a felony offense that can carry a 20 yr sentence.

    The system is beyond broken. Private prison companies write the laws and politicians connected to them help them get rich by introducing tough on crime laws in exchange for donations. This case is nothing new, there is a good book called The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander, it will give you a good idea of just how common this is in America. Its a disgrace on our country.
    Check out the American Legislative Exchange Commission (ALEC) and how politicians associated with it have pushed tough on crime bills that were drafted by private prison companies and if you search a little further, say, followthemoney.org you will see how those companies are major donors to those politicians campaigns. Guess who wrote Arizona's immigration laws...if you said private prison companies you guessed right.

    The Prison System along with the so called Security Initiatives will send the United States towards bankruptcy. Your Criminal Justice System appears to have degenerated to a UK style system where powerful wealthy connected people are effectively immune to prosecution. We've seen this in the UK with Jimmy Savile who was a well known "children's entertainer". Officials of the State Broadcaster and Savile's lawyers kept anyone from uncovering child sexual abuse allegations. So the élite predate on the poor and marginalized.

    Drug fighters and illegalizers are criminals because they kill, assault, rob, and arrest peaceful human beings like Stephanie George and millions of others who are 100% innocent of any real crime . They are also terrorists because they target civilians.

    The people who founded our country were smugglers, gun owners, and tax resistors. These freedom fighters did not recognize the authority of any government to interfere with honest trade, peaceful behavior, or the right to bear arms. Ultimately, they refused to be stopped and searched for guns and contraband. These facts are the origin of the Second and Fourth Amendments, the heart and soul of this Republic. Thus, in addition to being violent criminals and terrorists, drug fighters and illegalizers are also traitors.

    By the way, the major drugs in the world -- alcohol, cocaine, morphine (heroin), and cannabis -- are valuable medicines which have served mankind for centuries. Medicinal plants and extracts are also the safest drugs. Preparations of coca, opium, cannabis, and alcohol have been safely produced and consumed for centuries. These much-valued herbal medicines also have religeous, ceremonial, and recreational uses. They belong in every home and medicine kit unless the homeowner chooses otherwise. @verizon.net



  • IF YOU ARE STOPPED FOR QUESTIONING

    Stay calm. Don't run. Don't argue, resist or obstruct the police, even if you are innocent or police are violating your rights. Keep your hands where police can see them.
        Ask if you are free to leave. If the officer says yes, calmly and silently walk away. If you are under arrest, you have a right to know why.
        You have the right to remain silent and cannot be punished for refusing to answer questions. If you wish to remain silent, tell the officer out loud. In some states, you must give your name if asked to identify yourself.
        You do not have to consent to a search of yourself or your belongings, but police may "pat down" your clothing if they suspect a weapon. You should not physically resist, but you have the right to refuse consent for any further search. If you do consent, it can affect you later in court.

        Stop the car in a safe place as quickly as possible. Turn off the car, turn on the internal light, open the window part way and place your hands on the wheel.
        Upon request, show police your driver's license, registration and proof of insurance.
        If an officer or immigration agent asks to look inside your car, you can refuse to consent to the search. But if police believe your car contains evidence of a crime, your car can be searched without your consent.
        Both drivers and passengers have the right to remain silent. If you are a passenger, you can ask if you are free to leave. If the officer says yes, sit silently or calmly leave. Even if the officer says no, you have the right to remain silent.
